David Bradley
From the oil rigs in Siberia to the clubs and songwriters circles of Nashville, Tennessee, Englishman David Bradley brings his soulful country rock & roll to the U.S. via his new home in Music City. After settling in with the community of singers and songwriters in Nashville, David offers his first single, "Soak It Up". This infectious, mid-tempo rocker leads off his forthcoming album which is a culmination of travelling the world and growing up on good American country music.
David's first band, in which he served as lyricist and singer, was of a band formed with fellow engineers playing first in the U.K. and then on the road (or sea), wherever their jobs took them. "We'd put on concerts for the guys where we worked, entertained the troops, so-to-speak". The band played to an audience of 20,000 in the remote country of Kazakhstan, formerly of the Soviet Union, where his music united people of many towns and villages spread hours apart, many without electricity or running water. This experience inspired David and with it emerged his conviction that music was where his heart truly lay.
In 2005, David committed to his songwriting and moved for a year to a town in Siberia where he recorded his songs with a band of classically trained jazz musicians gathered locally. The songs were filled with the music David's father would bring home from his frequent trips to Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, Iran - tapes of American country music by Kenny Rogers, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson.
When he returned home, David's first steps towards his solo career were mixing his tracks at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London. The result, an album entitled, "Songs From A Dirt Road" (now available on iTunes and CD Baby). The songs exemplified his contagious melodies, gorgeously simple acoustic performances and honest and compelling voice. Powerful lyrics told of his deep feelings, a reflection of his unusual and lonely journey through life.
Now, with his feet firmly planted in the green grass in Nashville, David is collaborating with some of the most notable songwriters and producers in the great music town where he performs with a full band at the Music City Motorplex and other local venues while hosting and participating in the famed songwriter's rounds. His songs and performances have garnered him a highly coveted publishing deal with Wrensong Music Publishing. David's live shows also brought him to the attention of the AristoMedia Global Showcase who invited him to participate in their international "artist showcase of tomorrow's stars," kicking off CMA Music Fest in June, 2009:
"David Bradley brought the showmanship for his closing set, working the crowd and the ladies, in particular. Maybe it's because he's been living in Nashville for a while, but this pleasant fellow from the U.K. really came across with confidence on stage - he clearly knew how to deliver an energetic set without seeming too contrived. This is a guy to keep an eye on as well." (The AristoMedia Blog)
Currently working with singer/songwriter/producer Brady Seals (Little Texas, Hot Apple Pie), David is putting the finishing touches on his highly anticipated new album. The first single release, "Soak It Up", is hitting the airwaves as David embarks on a radio/TV promo tour.
"UK artist David Bradley has a cheerful new single which is so 'summer' I could practically smell the beach when I listened to it. The mid-tempo, perfect-for-a-roadtrip 'Soak It Up' is available on Amazon and iTunes and is very worthy of your attention." (Urban Country Blog)
Many country music fans and industry professionals agree: David Bradley is on the fast track.
Watch out for David Bradley, a Brit with a soulful sound, undeniable charm, rockin' edge and a whole new brand of country.
